At the National Convention, the resolution to increase national dues by $2 per member was passed. That means that this year, when you send in your dues to HQ in Columbus, you will need to enclose $24 per member. You will be receiving your preprint membership cards in the very near future, so this will become very important, very soon! If you have any questions, please direct them to one of your Department 1st Vice, Vern Davenport.
It is with heavy hearts that we are receiving news that Past Department Commander Keith "Bubba" Sherrill has passed away. We currently have no details. Once again the Sons of AMVETS joined the AMVETS family on Capitol Hill to address Veterans' Issues with our Representatives and Senators. This is one of most important projects every year, and with budget cuts, etc it is becoming even more important that we help serve as a voice for our Veterans. As always, Ohio had a strong presence in Washington DC and was able to meet with several folks who help the decisions be made, Thank you to all who participated in this event! And to Doug Brown, National Legislative Director for the Sons and Ed McNett, Department Legislative Director for organizing the effort and showing everyone the ropes! Great work everyone!
Thank you to everyone who joined us last weekend and helped make the Midwinter Conference such a success. As always, the Sons' Hospitality Room was the place to be, with JD Owen rocking the night away, good food, good drink, and of course good company. We hope that everyone had a good time and maybe even learned something while doing so. See you all again soon, and we can't wait until June Convention!

The Department would like to thank everyone who participated in this past weekend's Duane Pease Memorial Golf Tournament. All the golfers, officers, and volunteers had a great time in the sun and were able to raise money to help get our Veterans to Washington DC for Veterans' Day. Thank you to Post 1994 Kenton and all of their members for their hard work in putting the outing together after circumstances forced the original date to be changed and location moved.
